(i) Describe the narrator’s first encounter with the white horse. (The Summer of the Beautiful White Horse)
👉 The narrator saw the beautiful white horse early one morning when his cousin Mourad had brought it stealthily from a farmer’s stable. He was stunned by its beauty, strength, and magnificence. The horse stood quietly, allowing Mourad to ride it. The narrator was astonished, excited, and filled with joy at the thought of riding such a wonderful animal. This encounter marked the beginning of their adventurous yet morally conflicting experience.

(ii) Why did the narrator think she was at the wrong address? How were her thoughts proved to be wrong? (The Address)
👉 When the narrator went to Mrs. Dorling’s house, she was received coldly and rudely. The woman seemed unwilling to recognize her or talk about her mother. This made the narrator feel she had come to the wrong address. However, after seeing her mother’s belongings inside the house, she realized it was indeed Mrs. Dorling who had taken their possessions during the war. The cold behavior confirmed her identity, proving the narrator’s doubts wrong.
