Report – Chain Snatching (100 words)

Last Sunday, around 7:00 p.m., I witnessed a chain-snatching incident near Rajpura Market. A lady was walking alone when two boys on a motorcycle came from behind and snatched her gold chain. She screamed for help. People gathered and tried to chase the snatchers, but they escaped. The woman fainted due to shock. She was taken to hospital immediately and the police were informed. A case has been registered and CCTV footage is being checked. Such incidents show the need for stronger security and awareness.

What changes did the order from Berlin cause that day?

The order from Berlin announced that henceforth French would no longer be taught in schools and only German would be taught in Alsace and Lorraine. It created sadness and shock among the students and the village people. In the last French class, M. Hamel spoke about the beauty of the French language and asked everyone to protect it. The villagers came to attend the class to show respect. Franz felt guilty for not learning his language properly. The classroom became still and silent like a prayer hall.

Derry first thought Mr. Lamb would treat him badly like others because of his burnt face. But Mr. Lamb welcomed him warmly and encouraged him to face life with courage. He taught Derry to focus on what he had, not what he lost. His positive thinking and friendly behavior changed Derry’s attitude. Derry realised that Mr. Lamb understood him more than anybody else. He felt motivated and hopeful, and started believing in life again.
