(b) ARTICLE (125–150 Words)
Why We Lack Civic Sense and How to Develop It
By Shiva / Shamini
Civic sense refers to responsible behaviour towards society and public property. Unfortunately, many people lack civic sense. They litter roads, break traffic rules and waste food without concern. This careless attitude creates pollution, accidents and health hazards.
The main reason for this problem is lack of proper upbringing and awareness. Children learn by observing elders. If parents show irresponsible behaviour, children copy the same. Civic sense must be taught at home and reinforced in schools through value education, cleanliness drives and social service activities. Media campaigns and strict laws can also help.
If children are trained from an early age to respect rules, public property and fellow citizens, they will grow into responsible adults. A civic-minded society leads to a clean, safe and disciplined nation.
Therefore, cultivating positive thinking is essential for a happy, successful and meaningful life.
