India is observing the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, or 75th Independence Day, on August 15, 2022. The students need to prepare a speech for Independence Day 2022. On this day of independence, we miss our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our beloved country. Today, I am feeling proud that I got an opportunity to deliver a speech on Independence Day. Every year on August 15, India celebrates its Independence Day. In India, Independence Day is a national holiday. This year marks the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in India, with the theme, “Nation First, Always First,” and the entire country is in full patriotic mode. All sectors of society, including educational institutes, schools, colleges, and all members of society, are commemorating the freedom fighters by raising the National Flag on their homes. On this day, the Govt. of India is hoisting 200 million tricolours to observe the special day. Therefore, I congratulate the people who are present here for the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The English East India Company took control of India in 1757, following the British victory at the Battle of Plassey. The East India Company ruled India for 100 years until it was replaced by direct British rule (often referred to as the British Raj) in the aftermath of the Indian Mutiny in 1857–58. The Indian independence movement began during World War I and was led by Mohandas K. Gandhi, who advocated for a peaceful and nonviolent end to British rule.
Like the history of the freedom movement, the journey of 75 years after independence is a reflection of the hard work, innovation, and enterprise of ordinary Indians. Whether in the country or abroad, we Indians have proved ourselves with our hard work. We are proud of our Constitution. We are proud of our democratic traditions. The mother of democracy, India is still moving forward by strengthening democracy. India, rich in knowledge and science, is leaving its mark from Mars to the moon. May God bless our country so that people can feel proud of it.

In 1757, following the British victory at the Battle of Plassey, the English East India Company seized control of India. After the Indian Mutiny of 1857–58, the East India Company was superseded by direct British authority (often referred to as the British Raj). The Indian independence movement was led by Mohandas K. Gandhi, who called for a peaceful and nonviolent end to British rule, and began during World War I.
India declared independence from British domination on August 15, 1947. As India was liberated from the British empire, the entire nation cheered, ushering the reign of an independent and free nation, free from the 200-year terror control of the British.
Jawaharlal Nehru proclaimed India’s independence and was sworn in as the country’s first prime minister on August 15, 1947. The British House of Commons passed the Indian Independence Bill on July 4, 1947, and it became law within two weeks. This was a crucial step in the triumph process for India. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmi Bai, and a host of other freedom warriors and patriots inspired the common people to struggle for independence.
