Speech on World Environment Day 2024
Good morning everyone,
I am MS Yadav, Principal of GGSSS, Silana, Jhajjar. Today, we join the world in celebrating World Environment Day 2024. This year’s theme, “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience,” highlights critical issues affecting our planet.
Desertification and drought are escalating due to human activities and climate change, threatening ecosystems and livelihoods. As students, you play a vital role in combating these challenges.
Firstly, educate yourselves and others about sustainable practices. Participate in tree planting drives and take care of the greenery around your school and community. Trees play a crucial role in preventing soil erosion and restoring degraded lands.
Secondly, practice water conservation. Simple actions like fixing leaks, using water wisely, and promoting rainwater harvesting can make a significant impact.
Lastly, advocate for eco-friendly policies and support initiatives aimed at land restoration. Your voice can drive change.
Together, let’s commit to protecting our environment and ensuring a sustainable future for all.

मैं एमएस यादव, जीजीएसएसएस, सिलाना, झज्जर का प्रिंसिपल हूं। आज, हम विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस 2024 मनाने में दुनिया के साथ शामिल होते हैं। इस वर्ष की थीम, “भूमि बहाली, मरुस्थलीकरण और सूखे से निपटने की क्षमता,” हमारे ग्रह को प्रभावित करने वाले महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर प्रकाश डालती है।
मानवीय गतिविधियों और जलवायु परिवर्तन के कारण मरुस्थलीकरण और सूखा बढ़ रहा है, जिससे पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र और आजीविका को खतरा है। छात्रों के रूप में, आप इन चुनौतियों का मुकाबला करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं।
सबसे पहले, खुद को और दूसरों को संधारणीय प्रथाओं के बारे में शिक्षित करें। वृक्षारोपण अभियान में भाग लें और अपने स्कूल और समुदाय के आसपास हरियाली का ख्याल रखें। पेड़ मिट्टी के कटाव को रोकने और क्षरित भूमि को बहाल करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं।
दूसरा, जल संरक्षण का अभ्यास करें। लीक को ठीक करना, पानी का बुद्धिमानी से उपयोग करना और वर्षा जल संचयन को बढ़ावा देना जैसे सरल कार्य महत्वपूर्ण प्रभाव डाल सकते हैं।
