I am Nisha from class 12 and, with the permission of the principal, I have got a chance to deliver a speech on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and/or Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti 2022. First of all, I wish you all a happy Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti or Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti on behalf of my class.
Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti are celebrated annually on October 2nd simultaneously to commemorate the birthdays of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. India is celebrating its 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from August 15.. The day is observed as a public and bank holiday throughout the country. Every year, India commemorates the birthdays of its iconic leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Gandhi has been given the title “Father of the Nation” in recognition of his significant contributions to the country. They were crucial in achieving independence from the British. It is a wonderful opportunity for our countrymen to honour these great leaders who gave their lives for the betterment of our country.
Mahatma Gandhi, affectionately called “Bapu,” was the leader of India’s freedom struggle. His birthday presents an opportunity for Indians all over the world. The occasion of his birthday allows Indians all over the world to reflect on his teachings, particularly the values of nonviolence and selfless service. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, or Mahatma Gandhi as he is popularly known, was born on October 2, 1869, and dedicated his entire life to free India from British colonial rule. Students of class 12 can read the chapter “Indigo” to get a better glimpse of the freedom movement and Gandhiji’s role in the freedom struggle of India.
Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on October 2, 1904 and he was the freedom fighter and 2nd Prime Minister of India from 1964 to 1966 and before, he was the Home Minister of India from 1961 to 1963. He was responsible for White Revolution, a compaign to increase the production and supply of milk. Lal Bahadur Sha ri also promoted Green Revolution in India in 1965. This led to an increase in food grain production, especially in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
He was born to Sharada Prasad Srivastava and Ramdulari Devi in Mughalsarai on 2 October 1904. “He studied in East Central Railway Inter college and Harish Chandra High School, which he left to join the non-cooperation movement. He worked for the betterment of the Harijans at Muzaffarpur and dropped his caste-derived surname of “Srivastava”. Shastri’s thoughts were influenced by reading about Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Annie Besant
He will be known for his contribution during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965 and gave a slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” which became very popular and will be remembered for ever.The slogan was very famous during the war and the war ended with “Taskent Agreement” on Janauary 10, 1966. He died on the following day and the cause of his death is still not clear. He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna.

I am Luxmi from G.S.S.S., Dadri Toye, Jhajjar. I was given the opportunity to report on the school’s Gandhi Jayanti celebration. I arrived at school at 9 a.m. and was greeted with flowers by the students of class 10. The tricolours were used to decorate the school. The Gandhi Jayanti function was held at the prayer ground, and it began at 9.30 a.m. with the National Anthem.
The theme of the Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti function was Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, and students and teachers paid tribute to both Indian freedom fighters. The girls in class 9 then recited Bapu’s bhajan. Neha, a class 11 student, gave a speech on Gandhi Jayanti, and another class 12 student spoke about Lal Bahadur Shastri, India’s second Prime Minister. The students were having a good time at the function.
M.S. Yadav, the acting principal, delivered a speech on non-violence and the importance of Jawan and Kisan to the country. He discussed Lal Bahadur Shastri and his ideology with the students. He was India’s second Prime Minister and a freedom fighter from 1964 to 1966. He served as the country’s Home Minister from 1961 to 1963. He was in charge of the White Revolution, a campaign to increase milk production and supply. In 1965, Lal Bahadur Shastri promoted the Green Revolution in India. This resulted in an increase in food grain production, particularly in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The students were then addressed by D.E.E.O., Jhajjar, and Sh. Subhash Bhardwaj on the values of freedom fighters.
The Gandhi Jayanti function concluded with Gandhiji’s favourite bhajan, “Raghupati Raghav Rajaram…”, and the last N.S.S. officer, Ashish Kumar, distributed sweets to the students.
