Good morning, friends, teachers, and my respected villagers. I am Neha of class 12 and got an opportunity to deliver a speech on Republic Day 2023. First of all, I salute Saheed Jagbir Singh and wish you all a happy Republic Day 2023.

Our school is celebrating the 74th Republic Day on the campus in the presence of students, teachers, and parents. Sh. Rakesh Kumar, the village Sarpanch, is the Chief Guest of the Republic Day 2023. Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School Silana Celebrates Republic Day, a National Day, every year, Republic Day is commemorated on January 26 and we are all proud of our constitution which gave us the laws of the land, the Constitution of India.

On January 26, 1950, India got its own constitution for its citizens, which replaced the Government of India Act of 1935 and turned India into a separate republic from the colonial rule of Britishers. On this day, the main celebration of Republic Day is held in Delhi, the capital of India. The students of Saheed Jagbir Singh Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Silana, are going to perform different cultural activities.

India celebrates the 26th of November every year as “Constitution Day” to promote constitutional values among citizens. The knowledge of the constitution helps the citizens to know about their rights and duties. Constitution Day is celebrated in educational institutions throughout the country to mark the values of the Indian Constitution. The Indian Constitution was developed to protect the people’s rights and strengthen democracy. Being the chief editor of the school magazine, I got the opportunity to cover the Republic Day 2023 celebrations at the Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School in Silana. The school was well decorated with Indian flags, and the girl students welcomed guests and parents at the school’s entrance.

Republic Day celebrations started at 9 a.m. by welcoming the Chief Guest, Sh. Rakesh Kumar, Sarpanch of village Silana, by the members of SMC and the Principal, Sh. Mahinder Singh Yadav. Then, the students of the school sang a song of welcome. The Chief Guest hoisted the tricolour at 9.15 a.m., and the national anthem was sung by the students. After that, the Samudaik Nipun oath was conducted. The principal, Sh. Mahinder Singh Yadav, addressed the students and the parents and presented the school’s report for the session. Then, the cultural programmes were conducted by the students of the school. A speech on Republic Day was delivered by a student of class 12.

In the last, the Chief Guest, Sh. Rakesh Kumar, Sarpanch of village Silana, addressed the students. The programme came to an end with the distribution of sweets to the students.
